My research seeks to understand the interplay between explosive volcanic systems and plate tectonics. I use a combination of field work, analytical methods, geochemistry and fluid mechanics to investigate pre-, syn- and post-eruptive processes. Currently, my projects are focused on two volcanic systems in northwestern Nicaragua: Volcán Cosigüina and the Volcán Momotombo – Monte Galán Caldera System.
